JUVENTUS, De Ligt praises Pirlo ahead of Inter Milan clash
According to JuventusNews24, dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt had high praise for Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo in his recent interview with dutch newspaper Volkskrant.
«He's a good manager, he has a good vision», de Ligt said. «It's always interesting talking to him, he usually does all the match analysis by himself, he can also be tough when he needs to address issues. When I was younger he was a great player, everybody loved him».
This wasn't the usual amazing season for Juve, now fighting for a top-four placement in Serie A, and Pirlo came under heavy fire in his first season as manager, but de Ligt likes what he's seen so far from Pirlo and this sounds as a ringing endorsement for him, coming from one of the team's young stars and future leader of the locker room.
Juventus chances of qualifying for next year's UEFA Champions League are slim at the moment, with a crucial match against Inter Milan later today in Turin. There's been a lot of chatter about the team moving on from Pirlo at the end of the season, but don't rule him completely out just yet.
