Juventus - Ronaldo will stay even without Champions League football
Gazzetta dello sport writes Juventus will most probably play Europa League football next season but that does not mean Ronaldo will leave.
Ronaldo’s Mother Delores has expressed her desire for Cristiano to rejoin Sporting Lisbon, his boyhood club. “I will convince him to play at Alvalade next year” but her words are not reciprocated by Ronaldo’s entourage. Super agent Jorge Mendes has remained silent on the matter.
So what will keep Ronaldo in Black and white?
First of all he has a contract worth 31M net per season and few clubs would be willing to afford Cristiano such a salary. Ronaldo enjoys significant tax breaks in Italy that do not exist elsewhere in Europe. Finally a fee of 25M would be required to balance the books for Juventus due to the remaining amortization on his 4 yr contract.
All these financial factors work in favour of Cristiano staying at Juventus for at least 1 more season.
