SERIE A - Fiorentina trigger Bonaventura extension
Fiorentina have decided to trigger their option to extend Giacomo Bonaventura's contract, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The midfielder's contract expires at the end of the season but Fiorentina's clause allows them to ensure he remains committed to the club until 2023, though they could still offer him a new deal beyond that.
After a first season in which he struggled to get back into shape, this year Jack Bonaventura took Fiorentina.
For the new coach Vincenzo Italiano he is a fixed point: reference of the purple midfield, there in the middle everything revolves around him. All players in the squad alternate except him and Biraghi, who are always present.
The performance on the pitch is convincing the club to rely on the option to renew the contract for another season, until 2023.
