SERIE A - Napoli back to top of Serie A, thrashes Sampdoria
Napoli beat Sampdoria 4-0 on Thursday to keep their Serie A spotless record and return to the top of the standings. Victor Osimhen scored twice.
In Genoa, the visitors from Napoli rode their luck for the opening 35 minutes.
After 11 minutes, Emil Audero was tricked when Osimhen mishit a close range volley and had already slid back across the goal line when the softly struck ball floated into his hands.
After 50 minutes, Osimhen scored a second, latching onto Hirving Lozano's low right-wing cross and smashing the ball home from the outside of the six-yard box.
Nine minutes later, Piot Zielinski scored a carbon copy goal, meeting a low Lozano pullback with a precise shot.
With 15 points from their first five league games under Luciano Spalletti, Napoli returned to the top of the standings.
Inter Milan, who won 3-1 against Fiorentina on Tuesday, and AC Milan, who defeated Venezia on Wednesday, are now two points ahead of them.
