On Sunday, Napoli could lose their Serie A lead after a 1-1 draw with Verona at home on a night when they honored Diego Maradona with a special jersey.

Luciano Spalletti's team wore a uniform with the face of club great Diego Maradona, who died over a year ago, but they were not inspired to beat Verona and are now in danger of being overtaken by AC Milan if they beat local rivals Inter in the weekend's major encounter.

Verona earned a point thanks to Giovanni Simeone's close-range strike from Antonio Barak's low cross in the 13th minute, despite finishing the match with nine men due to two late red cards.

Five minutes later, Giovanni Di Lorenzo equalized for the hosts, but they couldn't find a winner, with Victor Osimhen and Dries Mertens hitting the woodwork late in both half.

Milan are a point ahead of Napoli, who know that a win in the San Siro derby would put them on top.
