The Preziosi era at Genoa is about to end. As we anticipated exclusively on August 27, the Ligurian club will be sold to a US fund, specifically to 777 Partners, a company that already owns 6% of Sevilla.

During his eighteen years of presidency, the Avellino entrepreneur has given the Rossoblu fans great joys, perhaps the greatest of all, the initial one, when in 2003 he invested 27 million euros saving the club from bankruptcy. And again, he has given great joys under the Lantern for the many strikers he has provided to the various coaches. From Milito to Stellone, from Adailton to Di Vaio, up to the more recent Borriello, Palacio, Crespo, Toni, Gilardino, Immobile, Pinilla, Pavoletti, Pandev, Piatek and, finally, Shomurodov. A pleasant vice that the supporters of the Grifone surely hope will be inherited by the new property.

A stain that, however, will remain on the management of Preziosi is the famous episode of the briefcase that in 2005 cost Genoa the relegation to C for alleged attempted corruption. On that occasion, Preziosi, the then ds Capozucca, Dal Cin and Pagliara were also sentenced to four years, only to be acquitted in 2010. A dark story from which, in any case, Preziosi came out cleanly.

This time the cycle is truly over. After eighteen years the sun of the Preziosi era sets.
