SERIE A - Two underdogs tracking Sampdoria backliner Tonelli
Training out throughout summer training camp in the pic above, 31-year old Italian centre-back Lorenzo Tonelli, going through a lot of injuries across the years, has been targeted by both Empoli and Spezia, according to La Repubblica. Playing for Sampdoria since January 2020, for the second time around, a first Bluerchiati loan-spell tenure in 2018/19, former Napoli player is still on a deal with Genoa-based club until June 2022, and is most likely meant to be on his way out before the end of August.
An Empoli alumni, Tonelli was close to make his Italian senior national team in late 2018, before his career started crumbling down, under the aforementioned repeated injuries. Throughout his career, club-wise, Tonelli capped 236 times on official games, scoring twenty goals therein.
