According to information from the Jornal de Noticias, Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo was the victim between 2007 and 2010 of a scam on the part of a travel agent, who allegedly charged him for stays that he has never been charged on his credit card. The Portuguese media estimates the amount stolen at around 288,000 euros in 200 different operations during these three years.

But the Portuguese superstar is not the only football personality to have suffered this scam: indeed, his agent Jorge Mendes and his former team-mates Nani and Manuel Fernandes have also lost nearly 350,000 euros between them. The fraudster, for her part, continues today to pay monthly indemnities to her former company in order to reimburse the scammed parties.
