According to a report that appeared in The Daily Mail, UEFA could be forced to pay millions in damages compensation to Juventus, Barca and Real if they were to be excluded from the Champions League.

This according to a new ordinance by Spanish judge Luis Lara of the Tribunal Mercantil n. 17, who ruled that if the three clubs were to be excluded from playing in the Champions League, they would be entitled to 20% of the resulting economic losses due to their exclusion. The clubs average a 70-80M Euros of revenue from their participation, so UEFA could end up paying 15-20M Euros to each club if they decide to bar them from Champions League play.

UEFA's sanctions against the three clubs were halted last month as they will have to wait on a ruling by the EU's Justice Court before they know if the procedure can go forward.
