Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he had all but sealed a move to Napoli after having watched Diego Maradona’s documentary.
Ibrahimovic gave an in-depth interview to Corriere della Sera and he spoke about a range of topics. One of those was Maradona and his legacy.
The striker stated: “Maradona is a myth. Seeing a documentary about him made me decide to go to Napoli, to do it like Diego and win the Scudetto.
“I was tired of America. I thought about quitting and Mino told me: “you’re crazy, you have to go back to Italy”. It was all done with Napoli but then De Laurentiis chased Ancelotti out.”
