LIGUE 1 - Montpellier: Valère Germain is crazy about Téji Savanier
Arrived at the very end of the summer transfer window to try to replace the duo Andy Delort-Gaëtan Laborde, the Montpellier HSC striker Valère Germain seems to adapt well to his new club, with already three goals scored and an assist delivered in 6 league matches.
A good start that he owes in particular to his teammate Téji Savanier, as he explains in an interview with L'Équipe: “to try to create something, the coach had the intelligence to put us in almost all the time, together in training from the start. It's important between a 10 and a 9 to have a good relationship. And then beyond that, it's someone who sets the mood, very nice, always in a good mood. We had taken our heads once or twice when I was playing in Marseille, because when you are opponent of Téji, it's not the same (laughs)."
Still in the columns of the sports daily, the former Marseillais also covered the number 11 with praise, classifying him among the great players he has known in his career:
"I had the chance to rub shoulders with a lot of great players during my career, and Téji is one of the best. He's someone who plays for the collective, who looks up a lot, who likes to give good balls. I think he said that (Germain would be the attacker he needed, editor's note) because I like to move as best as possible. With him, a simple glance or a simple call can make all the difference. He has anger. I played with players like that, like Raggi (Andrea, editor's note) in Monaco. It's love, but they want to win so badly that sometimes their words go beyond their thoughts. They have a "dog" mindset."
