Hungary’s latest prodigy catches the eye, Inter among clubs monitoring 2010-born striker
Hungarian football is once again emerging as fertile ground for young talent, and the latest name to generate excitement is Andrej Vasiljevic. The 15-year-old striker, born in 2010 and currently on the books at MTK Budapest, has already attracted the attention of several European clubs despite his tender age.
Vasiljevic is a footballing son of the soil. His father, Dušan Vasiljevic, enjoyed a solid professional career with Kaposvár, Újpest, Honvéd and Videoton, and now also acts as his son’s agent.
According to Hungarian outlet Nemzeti Sport, a number of clubs have already made contact with the player’s father in an attempt to steal a march on the competition. RB Leipzig, long active in the Hungarian market, having previously signed Péter Gulácsi and Willi Orbán, have been tracking Vasiljevic’s development for some time, although the first formal offer to MTK Budapest reportedly came from Hamburg.
The teenager is also admired by Benfica, while in Italy it is Inter who are keeping a close watch, with the Nerazzurri’s scouting department following his progress closely.
