Almost done with his overall fifth season spent playing for Inter Milan, Croatian international winger Ivan Perisic, who turned 32 last February 2nd, achieved his first Serie A title, meaning his second national one in a row (third overall since he had already won one as a Borussia Dortmund player, back in 2011/12). However, Italian giants management, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, are in no way interested in signing him on a deal extension, beyond current June 2022 deadline: Perisic is therefore being let out, otherwise staying put and then leave on a free move.

Previously pursued by a bunch more clubs all around Europe, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, Paris Saint-Germain, and AS Monaco, Perisic doesn't seem to have aroused further interest towards himself, at the time, in spite of a winning season rich of caps. Suitable also as both an attacking midfielder and a wide one, the player, roughly worth 10 million euros at the time, used to fend for more clubs, adding up to the already mentioned ones, namely Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg, Club Brugge, Sochaux, Roeselare (Belgium), and his home one, Hajduk Split, throughout his years as a junior.
