Stade Rennais acquire fullback Birger Meling
In a tweet on the club's Twitter account, Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais announced the acquisition of Birger Meling.
Meling arrives at Rennes from Nimes, a club that was relegated to the French second division last year. The 26-year old signed a three-year deal with the club. The Norwegian is a versatile and dependable fullback that can help Stade Rennais achieve European qualification, given how last season they finished in 6th place and they surely want to improve on that result come this season.
Meling played a single season at Nimes, where he appeared in 26 games and scored two goals. He joined the French side from Rosenborg, where he played for three seasons. He's also represented Norway at the international level 19 times.
