By now a powerhouse for both Barcelona FC first team and Spanish senior national one, 2004-born midfielder Pablo Martín Páez Gavira, known as Gavi, who turned 17 just last August 5, set a record yesterday, at Camp Nou, in the game eventually won by Real Madrid (by a 2-1 outcome, with David Alaba, Lucas Vazquez and Sergio Agüero as scorers), as the youngest Clásico starter of the XXI Century, and the second youngest player overall.
As highlighted on Blaugrana official website, Gavi and his teammate Pedri are among the twenty players still in contention to win the Golden Boy award, presented by Italian daily Tuttosport to honour the best young player of the year.
