LA LIGA – Real Madrid keen on ‘next Cavani’ from Uruguay
Spanish giants Real Madrid want to find their next strike talent from Uruguay and a potential Cavani-like player is in the books. Agustin Alvarez, Penarol’s 20-year-old prodigy is a wanted man at Madrid, according to todofichajes.
He is considered as the new Cavani in his homeland due to his 180cm tall stature and similar style of play. He has already scored 8 goals in 14 Apertura games this year and 9 goals in 12 Copa Sudamericana games.
There is growing interest from Italy and England too, with Juventus, Napoli and Manchester United all keeping tabs on his development.
A Fede Valverde-like situation is possible, by getting Alvarez permanently first and then sending him out to a competitive team on loan for one or two years, just like when Valverde was sent to Deportivo La Coruna.
