Now that it is becoming increasingly likely that Ousmane Dembele will not renew his contract with FC Barcelona, the chances are increasing that the 24-year-old French attacker will soon be put up for sale. Mundo Deportivo writes on Saturday morning that Dembele's situation in the Catalan capital is deteriorating. If the winger is sold in January, Barca may report to Manchester City.

Dembele's contract situation has been keeping things busy in Barcelona for some time. The attacker's contract expires next summer. Barca want to continue with Dembele and the player himself has also expressed the intention to extend the cooperation, but there has been no breakthrough in negotiations so far. Last Wednesday, Dembele's management is said to have met again with Barcelona, but again the parties did not come closer.

Dembele's agent, Moussa Sissoko, would not only focus on negotiations with Barcelona. The attacker is reportedly also being offered to other European powers, especially from the Premier League. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus, among others, are said to be closely monitoring Dembele's situation in Barcelona. Dembélé can extend his contract with Barcelona until mid-2025, but must then agree to a lower salary.

If the contract negotiations do not yield the desired result, Barca may enter the transfer market in January. Raheem Sterling then seems to be an important target of the Catalan club. The 26-year-old attacker gets less time to play at Manchester City than he wants, partly due to the arrival of top purchase Jack Grealish. Sterling would like a move to Barcelona.
