LIGA - Chimy Avila smiles again with Osasuna after injury problems
After suffering two severe injuries that have kept him off the pitch for more than a year, Chimy Avila smiles again wearing CA Osasuna's jersey.
The Argentine player, born in Rosario, dazzled Spanish football when he defended the SD Huesca elastic band. After two seasons at the Aragonese club, where he scored 17 goals, Chimy Ávila signed for CA Osasuna.
His career in the rojillo club began in the best possible way. Chimy Ávila had 11 goals in just 22 games, quickly winning over the Navarrese fans. However, injuries got in his way.
In January 2020, Chimy Ávila suffered a torn cruciate ligament. This injury kept him off the pitch for 213 days, in which he missed a total of 18 games with CA Osasuna. There could have been more, if it weren't for part of the recovery taking place in the summer.
At the beginning of the 20/21 season it seemed that Chimy Ávila could return to the pitch but, as if it were a black humor movie, the Argentine striker suffered a cruciate ligament tear a month after having recovered, this time on the other leg.
This second injury has had him off the pitch for 181 days, missing a total of 30 CA Osasuna games, practically the entire 20/21 season.
