LIGA - FC Barcelona is scouting in the English fourth tier
In search of promising young talents, FC Barcelona's gaze is apparently also directed into the depths of English football. Carl Rushworth has piqued the Catalans' interest, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 20-year-old Englishman is in the fourth division at FC Walsall on loan between the posts and is convincing across the board. The Catalans' scouts are said to have made their own picture on site.
In the 2-1 defeat by Newport County, the 1.90 meter tall goalkeeper saved his fourth penalty of the current season. Rushworth has played nine competitive games so far, but has only conceded once without a goal. The England U20 international is still tied to his regular club Brighton & Hove Albion until 2023, the youngster has not yet played a professional game for the Seagulls.
