The future of Gerard Piquè will still be at Barcelona. As reported by AS, the player also met with president Laporta to discuss his future.
One of Barça's most iconic players agrees with Chairman Laporta regarding the economic crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic and is willing to take a pay cut from his current salary of around 16 million Euros per season in order to stay at Barcelona.
Piquè wants this to be a strong message to the rest of the locker room; by reducing his salary he wants to lead by example, with Barça hoping that other players can also follow him in this decision.
