Real Madrid are allegedly keen on landing Juventus centre-back and Chelsea target Matthijs de Ligt in 2022.

The Galacticos allowed club legend Sergio Ramos to depart the club on a free transfer in the summer, while the France international Raphael Varane moved to Manchester United, with the towering defender seeking a new challenge.

David Alaba sealed the move to the Santiago Bernabeu outfit on a free transfer, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side are short of experienced variants in the middle of their defence.

Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for the Netherlands talent, as the west Londoners face being priced out of a move for leading centre-back target Jules Kounde from the La Liga side Sevilla.

However, according to a recent report from an Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Los Blancos are also interested in strengthening at the back and have identified the Blues-linked player as the ideal signing during next summer’s transfer market.

The 22-year-old star has made 77 appearances for the Old Lady since arriving from the Dutch side Ajax and still has three years left to run on his current deal, placing the Bianconeri in a strong position when it comes to any potential discussions.
