LIGA - Real Madrid present new acquisition Alaba to the press
As reported by Spanish sport outlet Marca, Real Madrid presented David Alaba to the press today.
Accompanied by his family, Alaba spoke about this new adventure at Real Madrid: "I didn't come to Real to be compared to others. I am Alaba and want to keep being Alaba. What I will bring to this club is my capabilities as a footballer and my mental strength. Just being myself....(Coming to Madrid) is a dream come true, they are the greatest team in the World and being here fills me with pride. I just want to put the jersey on and play."
When asked about where he would play, he answered: "I am very versatile, I can play multiple positions on the pitch and I'll go wherever the manager needs me." He added, on why he chose Real over others: "I decided to take this step in my career. Of course there were other offers, but Madrid was the only option for me. This is a drema come true, the best club in the World and the challenge I was looking for".
Alaba signed a 5-year contract worth around 10.5M GBP per season, joining on a free transfer from Bayern Munchen.
