LIGA - Real sees the next top addition in the Premier League
Antonio Rudiger is likely to be in his final season at Chelsea. Spanish media say the 30-year-old defender has instructed his agents to inform other clubs that he is open to a transfer after this season. His expiring contract means that the top clubs are lining up for him.
In 2017, Rudiger came over from AS Roma and so far he has 156 duels to his name for the Blues. The highlight of the German in London is winning the Champions League last season. The 47-time international has also started strong this season and was even this week labeled the best center back in the Premier League by Rio Ferdinand.
Chelsea would have offered Rudiger a new contract with an annual salary of 6.5 million euros, while he wants ten million. Marca says that he prefers a move to Real Madrid. After the departure of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, among others, there is an urgent need for a new center defender.
The financial impact of the corona crisis is large and the policymakers of the major European clubs are aware of this. The transfer-free Rüdiger is an opportunity and Bayern Munich would also be interested in the German. The mandekker previously played in the Bundesliga at VfB Stuttgart.
