Christophe Galtier, speaking before of his Nice team's trip to Troyes on Sunday, took a swipe at Algeria manager Djamel Belmadi, following the drama surrounding striker Andy Delort's temporary international retirement.

Galtier, speaking on RMC Sport yesterday, replied to Belmadi's claim that Nice prevents its African internationals from teaming up with their teams, as well as his dismissal of Delort's choice to focus on Nice as "the largest joke of the year."

“I knew Belmadi when he was a player. He was already over-the-top on the pitch, yesterday I found him very over-the-top again. He should mind his own team and let us work in peace.”

“When a player is called up for their national team, we have to let him go, that’s how it happens in every club in the world, it’s the rules. It’s too easy to say that Nice don’t want to send their players out on international duty. To put the responsibility on the club is very dishonest. It’s creating an unhealthy and dangerous climate around Nice.”
