RMC Sport reported yesterday that the FFF’s decision not to postpone this weekend’s Lyon-PSG fixture was notably down to broadcasting commitments as well as the away side’s refusal to do the same for the same match last year.

Paris Saint-Germain had lodged a request for the match against their main rivals for the D1 Féminines title to be played another time, following a turbulent week at the club and for its players. Midfielder Aminata Diallo was held in custody for 35 hours over a suspected link to the attack on Kheira Hamraoui last week, while other players were questioned about the event, which took place following a team dinner on November 4.

The match finished 6-1 to Lyon, including a double from the returning Ada Hegerberg. PSG director Leonardo has called out the authorities’ “lack of sensitivity”, while manager Didier Ollé-Nicolle criticised the decision as well.

The federal commission for womens’ football, which held a meeting on Friday, unanimously voted against postponing the game. The decision was notably motivated by broadcaster Canal+ having the match in prime time, on a Sunday night
