LIGUE 1 - Marseille might hand Saliba back to Arsenal once season's over
As reported by Maxifoot.fr, Arsenal's strategy with central defender William Saliba (20 years old, 4 games in L1 this season) is sometimes difficult to understand. Building up a defensive department from scratch, Gunners have however ended up loaning out, without an option to buy, former Saint-Etienne wonderkid, purchased on a 30 million euros transfer fee in July 2019, to Olympique de Marseille. Saliba is already showing off, as one of Marseille best players on the pitch.
Not surprisingly, the leaders of the English club are monitoring Saliba's performance and are counting on him for next year, according to the information of journalist Chris Wheatley. Thus, the current 16th in the Premier League even intends to offer him an extension of his contract, whose current deadline is set at June 2024.
