LIGUE 1 - Messi sustains a knock during last night’s 2-1 win over Lyon
Lionel Messi was kneed during Barcelona's 2-1 win against Lyon at the Parc des Princes last night, according to L'Équipe this afternoon. Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, had pulled his compatriot off for Achraf Hakimi midway through the second half, causing the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to frown.
Pochettino made the switch to accommodate PSG's busy schedule, and the former Barcelona manager came at training limping this morning, spending the whole day in the treatment room.
The club will examine Messi's medical status tomorrow, with the striker suffering an injury to his left knee - the same region where he was injured when representing Argentina against Venezuela in September, in a tackle that resulted in his opponent being sent off.
