LIGUE 1 - PSG: Leonardo's update on the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma

Guest of Il Festival dello Sport, in Trento, Italy, the sports director of Paris Saint-Germain offered a press conference, without tongue in cheek.
The 52-year-old leader spoke on Saturday of several hot issues in the Paris transfer window. After sending a few jabs to the Spanish capital, criticizing Real Madrid for having started negotiations with Kylian Mbappé, while the player is under contract with PSG, Leonardo has denied having, for his part, negotiated with Gianluigi Donnarumma before he was free. Asked if PSG had spoken to Gianluigi Donnarumma before the end of his contract, the Brazilian denied.
“We never contacted him until June. We opened talks to sign Gianluigi once he was a free agent, following the announcement by AC Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini," He said.
On May 26, in an interview on Twitch, Paolo Maldini said: “He was an important player, a leader and a captain. But today a player must be ready to change clubs. It is more and more difficult to make your whole career within one club. We always have to thank those who gave everything for AC Milan and Gigio is one of them. Our paths separate here and I wish him the best for the future."
