Paris SG currently has nine goalkeepers under professional contracts. Some like Alphonse Areola, Marcin Bulka or Garissone Innocent have gone to seek playing time on loan.

Others are learning like young Denis Franchi, Mathys Randriamamy or Lucas Lavalee while Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas are fighting for the position of no1. In the middle, Sergio Rico is looking for his place. Lining Navas last season, the Spaniard has clearly come down in the hierarchy, even now appearing to be No. 4 behind Alexandre Letellier.

He thought of leaving, with touches in Lille and Besiktas in particular. In the end, he stayed. “The situation is complicated (...). In any case, the number one objective is for the team to achieve its objectives and everything will go for the best in the right direction, ”he said during a long interview with the Spanish magazine Panenka.

The Iberian then said a little more about the terrible competition in his sector of play. “There is a very healthy competition, everyone knows their role very well. We live it well, especially in my case. I am friends with Keylor who is an amazing person. If as a keeper he is good, as a person he is just as good or even better. He's a good friend and that makes the competition easier to get along with. In the end, we are all trying to row in the same direction. Whoever plays, we must be happy, the important thing is that the results follow ", he assured, savoring the major summer arrivals (Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes).
