Arsenal want a fresh deal for Eddie Nketiah to run for three years, but the forward still has one reservation, according to a report Footy Extras.

He is back on the scoresheet for the Gunners. Nketiah marked his third appearance of the campaign with a goal in their win over Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United in the Carabao Cup. It served as a timely reminder of Eddie’s potential and why the Gunners may be running a risk if the club let his contract run down.

But at the age of 22, Eddie is hungry for more minutes to prevent his professional career from stagnating. Out of contract at the end of the term, he’s facing a crossroads in his career but the London outfit are still trying to convince the Englishman to stay, despite the lack of playing time Mikel Arteta has given him thus far this term.

According to Ekrem Konur, the Premier League side want to give Eddie a new, three-year contract, showing their faith in the player for the future. However, the England youth international is “unhappy” at the club because of his lack of minutes. Therefore, he’ll “only” sign a contract extension if there is a feeling he’ll be given a more prominent role.
