Josh Kroenke may have dropped a hint on Arsenal's spending in the January transfer window. The Gunners, who defeated Watford 1-0 on Sunday afternoon, spent in excess of £140million during the summer - more than any other Premier League club.

Technical director Edu added six players in the form of Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard, all of which were 23-years-old or under at the time of joining.

Now, Kroenke has admitted that he is pleased with the progress made by Mikel Arteta's side so far this season whilst also claiming that Arsenal supporters deserve more than they have seen in recent years.

"I’m growing more confident by the day but there’s a lot of work ahead,” Kroenke told Sky Sports.

“Even though we’re starting to show signs of progress, if you don’t keep pushing forwards you’ll stagnate. That’s a big focus of ours right now: what are our next steps?

“Do we feel good about where we are? We feel better about where we are, we don’t feel good. Our fans still deserve more."
