After three defeats in the first three competitive games of the season, Arsenal FC finally celebrated their first win this weekend against Norwich City (1-0) and left the relegation ranks for the time being. Actually a day of joy from the Gunners' point of view, only one will probably not be too happy: Bernd Leno.

The German lost his place in the box to new signing Aaron Ramsdale (23), whom the North Londoners had signed for almost 30 million euros from Sheffield United in the summer. The fact that coach Mikel Arteta found after the game that the newcomer had “played outstandingly” suggests that a changing of the guard is looming in the position of goalkeeper.

And so it is not surprising that the first rumors of Leno's departure are already sprouting. The Daily Mail reports that Ramsdale was obliged from the start with the ulterior motive that he should replace Leno as number one at the end of the current season and that the German international will then be sold, also with a view to his contract that expires in 2023.

As the tabloid continues to write, this fact does not change anything that the change in goal was now carried out earlier than expected. According to the report, it is unlikely that Leno will pack his things in winter. Nonetheless, Italian media have already brought up Inter Milan as a possible new employer. The reigning Italian champions are looking for a successor to veteran Samir Handanovic (37).
