PREMIER - Newcastle sets eyes on United's Eric Bailly and Lingard
Newcastle are expected to seek both Bailly and Jesse Lingard in the forthcoming January transfer window, according to The Northern Echo, after Mike Ashley's sale of the club was finalized earlier this week.
Newcastle is considering a move for Bailly, while there are concerns over Lingard after the midfielder turned down a move to West Ham in the January transfer window.
Manchester United are unlikely to let Bailly go in January, but they may be more forgiving in the case of Lingard, who has been used little this season. Lingard's position also has a lot of cover, but Bailly's position does not.
In Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's pecking order, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Victor Lindelof are all ahead of Bailly, implying that the former Villarreal defender might be on his way out.
