As he juggles Chelsea's attacking resources for Saturday's Premier League home game against Norwich, Thomas Tuchel has refused to set a timetable for the recovery of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner from injury.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has stated that club-record acquisition Lukaku and teammate forward Werner will miss the weekend's game at Stamford Bridge as well as Tuesday's League Cup match against Southampton.

However, he stated that speculating on when Lukaku would return from an ankle injury and Werner would return from a hamstring injury was futile.

"Romelu, Timo and Christian are all out for tomorrow," Tuchel said on Friday. "There's no big news for Romelu and Timo. I can say they are out for tomorrow and they will be out for the Southampton game and from there we see what's next.

"I don't think it makes any sense that we go into speculation about how long it's going to be... you never know, things can be shorter than expected or they can be longer than expected."
