Liverpool eyeing Tielemans to replace Wijnaldum
According to a new report by journalist Daniel Nilson, Liverpool have started talks with Leicester City for Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans. The Foxes' asking price seems to be too steep for the Merseyside club, who could be looking at other options shortly, as they are trying to replace Georgino Wijnaldum who departed this transfer window.
Tielemans' is one of the objectives, after his performances with Leicester City drew the attention of Liverpool's top brass. He was named Leicester's best player by other players and fans, and was instrumental in the Foxes' effort that saw them lift the FA Cup for the first time in their history, thanks to his marvelous strike in the final last year.
He is now with the Belgian national team in preparation for this year's Euros, a competition that could elevate his market value if Belgium make a deep run and Tielemans is able to shine in the midfield, so until the competition is over it is unlikely we'll see any deal get done.
