According to a report by journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, Tottenham are ready to pull the trigger on their first signing after bringing in what will be the Spurs' new sporting director in Italian and former Juve man, Fabio Paratici. The player at the top of the list seems to be Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.

Thuram, who has two years left on his deal with the Bundesliga side, is a promising young player who in two years with the German club was able to net 25 goals in all competitions. Tottenham will have to make a considerable financial effort to bring the Frenchman to London, despite the club's recent financial woes that sees them deep in debt. Something that could help lessen the burden, however, is the fact that Gladbach will miss out on European competitions this upcoming season, so the Germans could lower their asking price and try to capitalize on Thuram's sale.

All this comes in the wake of increasing rumors that would see Spurs' star striker Harry Kane leave the club for a record fee, and Thuram could be one piece of the puzzle that is trying to replace Kane's production. Furthermore, we'll need to see how Antonio Conte would fit him in his trademark 3-5-2 scheme that just saw Inter crowned champions of Italy for the first time in 11 years under his command.
