ITALY - Mancini: "We played really well, great atmosphere by the fans"
In an interview to RAI Sport after the inaugural match of Euro 2020 that saw Italy breeze past Tuirkey with a convincing 3-0 scoreline, Italy manager Roberto Mancini expressed his satisfaction with the Azzurri performance:
"We played a really good match, even in the first half where we were not able to score. It wasn't easy, we were making our debut in the competition and they are a good team. The fans gave us a great boost, the lads played really well. Moving the ball quickly was key for us, it allowed us to switch play where there was a free man. It was a wonderful performance, I hope we'll see other ones like this one". When asked about Italy's chances to make it to the final he answered: "Wembley? It is still a long road ahead, there are six potential matches to go"
A promising start for Italy, who will play Switzerland next, on Wednesday June 16, with a chance to secure qualification if they are able to secure another 3 points.
