The 2022 World Cup finals tournament draw is planned to take place on April 1 in Qatar, with two of the qualifying teams still unknown due to match schedule delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed the draw ceremony plan on Wednesday, after the date for the soccer body's annual conference of 211 member federations was set for March 31 in Doha.

Only 30 of the 32 qualifying spots for the event, which runs Nov. 21-Dec. 18, are expected to be filled by the end of March. So far, only Germany and Denmark have confirmed their participation, in addition to the host Qatar.

The intercontinental playoffs, which were originally slated for March, will decide two places in June.

One team from Asia, the CONCACAF region of North America, Oceania, and South America will compete in each of the games.
