NATIONS - Kolasinac may be seriously injured after a brutal foul
Bad news for Sead Kolasinac: The former professional and captain of FC Schalke 04 may have sustained a serious injury after a nasty foul in the World Cup qualifier with Bosnia-Herzegovina against Finland.
In the 37th minute of the game, the Finnish defender Jukka Raitala hit the 28-year-old with a brutal tackle on the left ankle. Supported by supervisors, Kolasinac left the field in pain and had to be replaced.
The Arsenal professional may have suffered a ligament injury. However, a diagnosis is still pending. The former Hoffenheim Raitala rightly saw the red card for his entry.
Nonetheless, the Finns won the game 3-1 with goals from Marcus Forss (29th), Robin Lod (51st) and Daniel O'Shaughnessy (73rd). Only Luka Menalo (69th) scored for the Bosnians. They finally missed qualifying for the World Cup finals in Qatar in winter 2022.
Finland, on the other hand, can still hope to participate in the playoffs as runners-up in the group.
