Ramsdale received his first England cap, and he was overjoyed to be able to represent his nation.

"It's special, you know," Ramsdale said after learning that he is the 1265th player to represent England. It's a long time coming. Dreaming of this day for a long time.''

"My family was here as well. I think I've seen tears during the national anthem."

"Got to thank the boys for that haven't I [the clean sheet]. They have played well in front of me. They played well."

Ramsdale signed a long-term contract with Premier League team Arsenal on August 20, 2021. Five days later, he made his Carabao Cup debut against West Bromwich Albion, keeping a clean sheet as Arsenal triumphed 6–0.
