NATIONS - Russia appoint Valeri Karpin national team head coach

Once having parted ways with Stanislav Cherchesov, Russian football federation announced having named 52-year old Valeri Karpin new full-side national team head coach.
Training FK Rostov beforehand, from December 2017 up until now, Karpin had also worked, as a first-team manager, for Torpedo Armavir, RCD Mallorca, and Spartak Moscow. As a player, while having capped 72 times for Russian senior national team, scoring 17 goals therein, he used to hail from the ranks of Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, Valencia, Fakel Voronezh, CSKA Moscow, and the once existing Sport Tallinn, as well as from Spartak Moscow ones themselves.
