Mexico lost this morning against Japan in Tokyo's Olympics. It only took four minutes for Japan to score two goals, exposing Mexico's slow backline. The goals were scored by Takefusa Kubo in the 7th minute and Ritsu Doan from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. Japan's explosive speed shocked the defensive players who had no answer on their relentlessness early on.

With today's result, Japan leads group A with six points, tied for second is Mexico and France with three points a piece; Mexico has the slight advantage due to goals score. Bottom of the list, we have South Africa who has not accumulated a single point in the first two matches. The race to advance will be settled in the third match for Japan, Mexico and France.
