NATIONS - Turkey about to name Stefan Kuntz new head coach
A two-time Under-21 European League winner, as Germany youth-tier boss, German trainer Stefan Kuntz, turning 59 on October 30, is allegedly about to be named new Turkish senior national team head coach, therefore replacing Senol Günes. The trainer might be appointed soon by Turkish federation.
While Turkish source Fanatik mentioned Tayfun Korkut, Mustafa Dogan, Kenan Kocak and Tayfur Havutcu as further candidates for the job, Kuntz is allegedly leading the race by far. A proficient striker as a player, from early 80's all the way through to mid 2000's, Kuntz stood out especially from Kaiserslautern ranks, managing to cap 25 times for German senior NT, besides fending for Besiktas in 1995/96.
