PREMIER - Chelsea: the underside of Romelu Lukaku's transfer revealed

In an interview with the Telegraph, the agent of Lukaku, Federico Pastorello unveiled the underside of this astronomical transaction. The representative of the Belgian international concedes that Chelsea have somewhat underestimated Inter's willingness to retain their striker despite their economic difficulties.

“Everyone knew Inter were having financial difficulties. But I think Chelsea have a little underestimated Inter's willingness not to sell Romelu. So it was part of my job, to explain that without the right offer, the player would not budge. Chelsea were certain they could take the player, but they had to think twice before doing so.

There were a lot of offers before reaching the one accepted by Inter. There were four offers and the fifth closed the negotiations. Looking back, I think everyone got a really good deal, ” says Pastorello. Currently injured, Romelu Lukaku is waiting for only one thing: to shake the nets again with the Blues.
